What's not to love about this place. The food is great and there is a good variety to choose from. Staff is always courteous and provide exceptional service. Last but not least it is not least you get good and healthy food at a reasonable price.
How did I not know about this place for so long? So on Friday, I wanted some vegetarian/vegan food. As far as I knew, there weren't any places near my home that really specialized in this type of cuisine. However I decided to do a Google search and found this restaurant to my surprise, which was only about 12 minutes away from my house. So I hopped in my car and headed straight over to the restaurant. When I walked inside, I noticed that their menu varied based on the day of the week. Since it was Friday, they had pepper steak, mac and cheese, chicken wings... (By the way it is very strange using the word steak and chicken to talk about vegan or vegetarian cuisine.) Nevertheless, when I got to the front, a gentleman named Brad (I think) helped me and after I told him that this was my first time in the restaurant, he was very nice to load me up with a variety of food choices to try. The top three things that I enjoyed in my plate were the honey curry wings, the mac and cheese and the succotash. When I tell you that that mac and cheese was so creamy and yummy, it had me wondering what in the world do they put in that stuff! I felt like there had to be some eggs and Velveeta in there somewhere. It was so good! All in all, it was an excellent experience from customer service to the delicious food. I will definitely be back!
I would not go here again. Really disappointed in the food but the service was probably the worst part of the experience. The gentleman out front greeted me and was very polite. However, the two girls behind the counter said nothing and continued to speak while I waited. I said a quick "hello" to see if maybe they didn't think I was ready as I was over by the menu. The girl with the orange hair began to put on gloves, while continuing to talk to the other girl. Again, neither acknowledged my hello. Once her gloves were on she asked if I was ready. I ordered the cashew Mac, collard greens, and the "fish" wrapped in seaweed. While ringing me up she scratched at her scalp. Once I paid, she didn't put the food in a bag, offered no utensils (I grabbed them myself) and just walked away. The food was just as bad as the service. The "fish" had a texture of jerky, which is likely because it sat out all day. Collard greens tasted canned, and the cashew Mac was just not for me. Please note, I did come at 8pm and the place closes at 9. So this is probably why the food didn't taste that great. No excuse for the abhorrent customer service though.
Kudos for offering free samples! I was able to sample some of the hot and cold foods. I really like the potato salad and cashew mac and cheese. The cake taste really sweet but it good.
